Amanda Phillips, MD

Dr. Amanda Phillips is a physician, entrepreneur, educator, and philanthropist whose work sits at the intersection of medicine, service, and social impact. With more than two decades of leadership, she has dedicated her life to advancing health equity, education, and community development.

She serves on several boards, including Habitat for Humanity and the Center for Black Women’s Wellness. Her humanitarian work spans the globe where she provides free surgery, donates to schools and supports programs that train women in entrepreneurship.

Dr. Phillips’ lifelong commitment to service transforms lives and communities.

Founder and President

Deborah Haynes, MD

Dr. Haynes is a native of Chicago. She graduated from Temple University- Louis Katz School of Medicine and completed a residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. In obstetrics and gynecology, she brings her wealth of knowledge and expertise to her patients for over 25 years.  

She is passionate about giving back to the community through medical missions and health education. She supports many nonprofit organizations in the community. She serves on the Piedmont Henry Hospital board of directors.

Meja Day, MD

Treasurer

Dr. Day is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist working to revolutionize the way eye care is delivered. She has a passion for providing quality patient care and patient education. She is the proud owner of The Eye MD, a boutique style ophthalmology clinic located in Conyers, GA.

Dr. Day is an alumnus of Spelman College and Morehouse School of Medicine.  She completed her residency training at Louisiana State University.  She has held several offices in community organizations and believes in teaching the next generation of physicians.  She also brings to the board her experience in medical research. 

Muhammad Mukarram, MSII

Secretary

Muhammad is a second-year medical student at Charles Drew University Medical School and Gates Millennium Scholar with strong interests in surgery, medical research, medical innovation, community building, business, and mentorship. In addition to these interests, he is highly passionate about service geared towards young adults in need of academic and career guidance. His commitment to these forms of service is highly influenced by the benefit he received from them throughout his academic career. One of his goals is to develop surgical training centers abroad. He would like to assist in the education and training of medical personnel in that region. 

Yvette Christian, Ed.S

Board Member

Yvette McEwen Christian, is a dedicated educator of over 30 years.  Her service to education has granted her the opportunities of being recognized by the State of Georgia as a Master Teacher, Teacher of the Year, Certified Teacher Mentor, Director of a Girls Leadership Academy, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

She received her undergraduate degree from Florida A & M University, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University, a Master’s Degree and Specialist from Georgia College and State University in Educational Leadership with honors. She has additional certifications in Gifted Education and ESOL.

Bree Lockhart, Ed.D

Board Member

Dr. Bree Lockhart is a lifelong educator, leader, and consultant with more than 32 years of leadership experience. A proud Houston native, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University, master’s and specialist degrees from Troy University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University.

She has had national impact through the School of Advanced Studies at the University of Phoenix, where she taught doctoral-level courses and served as a Dissertation Chair and Committee Member, supporting candidates pursuing advanced leadership degrees.


Christoper Jean-Louis, MD

Board Member

Dr. Christopher Jean-Louis is a breast surgical oncologist.  He is a native Stone Mountain who returned to Georgia following his medical training to care for his community and “make a positive difference in the lives of many breast cancer patients in the area".  He received his undergraduate degree in Biology/Chemistry from Savannah State University. He continued his studies at the University of North Texas Health Science Center for medical school, completed his residency at Atrium Navicent Health Medical Center/Mercer School of Medicine and finished his fellowship training with the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences.  

He practices at Piedmont Physicians Breast Surgery and has a has a special interest in health disparities, breast surgical oncology and oncoplastics.
